The Bøg Madsen Foundation donates millions to the Danish nursery trade

A cooperation between Dalum UddannelsesCenter and the Bøg Madsen Foundation now results in setting up a new and focused competence education – the Bøg Madsen Academy

The purpose is to raise the competence level of the employees within the trade and production of plants to obtain an increased market share on the present as well as on the new markets.

Salesmen with a high competence level will more and more be able to increase the sales of Danish products to the EU, which the Danish plant industry will benefit from.

During the last years the retail structure has changed significantly and developed faster than seen so far. This calls for new ways of thinking and acting. The knowledge about the value chain, negotiation techniques, category management etc. is key competence with regard to salesmen, key account managers and sales managers at the nurseries, when they participate in negotiations on a competitive European market.

An interesting challenge to plan a further education in a partnership

Director Hans Skjerning says: “As a provider in educations on a basic and further education level within the nursery sector, the planning of this competence upgrading has been a very interesting challenge. Together with Bøg Madsen we have succeeded in establishing a module built-up competence education for all players in the trade and within all parts of the whole value chain”.

Hans Skjerning continues: “Dalum UddannelsesCenter is very agreeable to this fine example of public-private partnership with the Bøg Madsen Foundation. When a business foundation joins an education institution it is a good example of the synergy effect in a partnership and a concrete result in raising the competence level of the employees in a trade”.

The target group of The Bøg Madsen Academy is the Sales Manager with the Danish plant nurseries and the sales and marketing employees with the Danish plant exporters.

The fundamental purpose of the E. Bøg Madsens Fond

Director Jens Bøg Madsen from E. Bøg Madsens Fond says that he is very pleased with the fact that one of the fundamental purposes of the Fond now will be practised by establishing The Bøg Madsen Academy. Jens Bøg Madsen is looking forward to pursue the results and is convinced that these will strengthen the trade in general.
